The role will be based in their Wahroonga , Parramatta and/or Campbelltown clinics. The Position… The position on offer is a Clinical Psychologist position that will play a vital role in providing high-quality, evidence-based psychological services to a diverse patient base with acute and chronic pain conditions. This role will work collaboratively with healthcare professionals in the clinic to support patient management and assist in returning patients to their functional lifestyle. Specific role responsibilities include: Clinical To provide psychological services for patients referred to the Pain Management clinic. Ensure treatment of patients is integrated with treatment plans of other Pain Management health care professionals using an in-house clinical pathway management tool (PainPath®). Assess patients to determine the potential benefits from psychological treatment and identify psychosocial issues. Management of patients’ psychosocial issues and development of individual self-management strategies. Conduct psychology sessions for group programs being held at the clinic when required. Involvement in outcome studies data collection and performing statistical analysis on outcome data. Contribute psychological perspective to patient progress at Clinical Case Conferences where appropriate. Maintaining confidentiality and integrity of patient records. Education, Training & Research Maintaining own professional education/CPD with relevant specialist college/s and relevant aspects of pain medicine. Participation in research projects, implemented within the clinic or in collaboration with research staff external to the clinic, as required. Participate as appropriate in educational programs, including education of junior and senior medical/non-medical staff and pain medicine trainees and community education programs whenever necessary/possible. Attend dedicated community education programs as required. Ideal Candidate… The ideal candidate will have the following: Approved degree in Psychology with relevant postgraduate experience. Current registration as a Clinical Psychologist with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA). Eligible for membership with the Australian Psychological Society. Eligible for membership with the APS Clinical College. Demonstrated experience in the assessment and evidence-based treatment of health conditions associated with chronic pain. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport and work collaboratively. Proficiency in the use of psychological assessment tools and outcome measures. Advanced computer literacy in Microsoft Office suite.
